A sleepy Friday. In other words, the usual.

The day after: I overslept, was late 40 mins. for work, am sleepy, just finished with my second cup of coffee and mulling a third, and want to go home. A sign that it was a good night? I'd say, a LATE night for sure! ;)

I am lucky enough to have a job that allows me to meet individuals who most people would only dream to meet (politicians - although, I can imagine that some people would rather meet and bludgeon some politicians; entertainment figures; important business movers and shakers, etc.). And as per this post, I mentioned that I would be meeting Ms. Nina Garcia. Well, it was due to my working at a dinner being hosted by my boss and his wife, and the guest list was the usual Who's Who of DC.

Unbelievably, the night wasn't as fabulous as I thought it was going to be. Maybe it had something to do with my high expectations of seeing Ms. Nina Gah-cia? I was a bit disappointed by her wardrobe choice, in my (completely) humble and honest opinion. A sleeveless, above-the-knee, black and blue dress with a tiered bottom and black ankle booties. Meh. I wish I could've taken a picture. And she was soft-spoken! Given her Simon-Cowell-like-character on Project Runway, I was looking forward to a more vivacious, outgoing Ms. Garcia. Not so much. Maybe she reserves that only for the cameras or possibly the next episode/season?

One thing I can say about last night -

the singer who was the night's entertainment was amazing! It was Ms. Denise Thimes, a jazz singer based out of St. Louis, Missouri. She sang about 4 or 5 songs and was absolutely breathtaking! She is an absolute gem and sweetheart. :) Please check her out and keep your eyes (and ears!) open for a CD soon!
