The National Shrine of the Immaculate Conception, D.C.

On Easter day, I attended mass service at the National Shrine of the Immaculate Conception in Washington, D.C. (It's also known as the Shrine or the Basilica.) There's always a feeling of comfort and being at home when I'm here. It may be daunting because of its grand scale and seemingly ostentatious interior, but there's something about it that emanates warmth and welcome to any who happen to drop by for a visit - Catholic or not.

I thought I'd share a few photos I took this past Sunday inside the Upper Church. I'll get around to getting photos of the Lower section of the Basilica, which contains the Lower Church and the Crypt (it's not as creepy as it sounds - heehee).
