My feet on the long weekend...and some other feet.

My cousins and I waiting for the train on the platform,
on the way to the Smithsonian Museum of Natural History
to watch "Night at the Museum: Battle at the Smithsonian".

I'm the one in the yellow J.Crew Capri sandals, of course. ;)

My favorites from the movie:

1. My favorite, Abraham Lincoln, coming to life
(How AWESOME would that be?! I mean, the actual statue at the Memorial!!)
and showing his comedic chops.

2. Cowboy Jedidiah Smith (Owen Wilson)
and Roman soldier Octavius (Steve Coogan)'s adorable friendship.

3. "I'm t'inkin', I'm t'inkin..." - The Thinker

4. Amy Adams as Amelia Earhart.  ('Love, love, love Amy Adams in anything she's in!)

5. Seeing The Mall on the big (BIIIG IMAX) screen and then walking out to see the real thing!
(Ok, so this is more an "after the movie" moment, but it is my list. Teehee!)

6. General Custer (Bill Hader from SNL) getting encouraged by Larry Daley (Ben Stiller) to lead the museum troops. Too sweet.

7. Hank Azaria's awesome acting as bad guy Kahmunrah ('loved the lisp!)
and excellent voice skills as the Thinker and Abraham Lincoln!

8. Napoleon played with just enough goofy panache by French actor Alain Chabat.

So, anyone with kids, anyone who would like to be a kid for an hour and a half,
go see this movie! So much fun!

  2. Ok, you've convinced me. M&E want to see it, too. So cool to see it at the Smithsonian!

Speaking of after-the-movie experiences, I still remember when hubby & I saw Apollo 13 in the theatre and then walked home (living in Bethesda) and there were fireworks going off since it was July 4th weekend. It was very cool and quite appropriate. Love that movie.

  3. Perfect timing for seeing the sequel then, Gigi! I would totally recommend this movie if you'd wanna escape for a bit. Glad I was able to help you guys make up your mind! ;)

And HeidiG, I feel really lucky being in a place where some people just see and aspire to be in only in movies and TV. :)
