Now, don't get me wrong. This is not the jumpsuit that has become the staple in the closet of the hollywood ingenue...
...or the horror that J.Crew came out with in the summer of 2007...

It's the one-piece that either comes in shorts or harem/harem-like pants.
I know what you're thinking, "Is she serious? Is she even going to go there?"
Yes, why, yes, I am...because...well, because I'm getting way too darn lazy thinking of what my next outfit will be. Which color goes with what. What proportions should go with which bag. What fabric would not clash with each other. Jeans or skirt. Tank or strapless.
Chloe from The Chloe Conspiracy talked about the shorts version in this post. I'll be talking about the ones with harem pants. And only because I feel like if I'm going to be able to carry a romper off, it would be the ones with big, baggy pants, not teeny, weeny shorts. But that's just me.
Alexis from J.Crew Aficionada blogged about seeing harem pants all over on her recent jaunt to Paris in this post. That made me think even harder....can I pull these off?
If I could and I would buy myself a romper (or two)....and only because I wanna be sloppy-but put-together-in-a-Parisian-way sloppy....I'd definitely consider these...the best part? They're all convertible. :)
Wearing this would a suit jacket in navy, gray or black and black heels
would transport this piece from resort vacation to workplace ready.
I can totally picture this with the the J.Crew Palma sandals
and the Rumpled French Terry Cardigan or even a simple Jackie cardigan.

A structured jacket, like the Soiree Sateen Jacket in Slate, or maybe even the Olive,
or a cropped jacket over this romper
for breezy, cooler temps would be stylin'.

Man...if you do the romper thing, you will be my fashion hero. And since it is a onesie, you will match CW.
ReplyDeleteMe--NO WAY. Uh, unh. I would think the entire time...how the heck am I gonna pee?
so funny that we are worried about the potty - but yeah, me too. Same reason I wear tankinis at the pool/river/beach/lake. so sad.
